SA8 Box 230V

Part 52-01-05

New Version

NEW VERSION.A self contained burner ignition and control box. A built in ignition transformer and with control switches and indicator lights on the front cover means that this is a simple plug in and go solution for most burners. Enclosed in a robust steel enclosure, it is suitable for most industrial environments.
Supports Pilot and Main Valve gas trains
Flame sense – Flame probe or UV (requires UV Detector)

SA8 Box 110V

New Version

Identical to the above but with a 110V ignition transformer and the control card configured for 110V as well. The box itself (indicator lamps) is suitable for 110 or 230V and converting the card is a simple matter. If you ever need to convert one to the other, all that is required is a replacement ignition transformer.

SA8 Ignition unit 230V

Part 52-01-10.

An encapsulated, high frequency spark generator. It is the same as fitted into the 230V SA8 box and unless requested otherwise, comes with the correct mains connectors to suit. It is suitable for use with most gas burners.
Input – 230V (moulded in flex)
Output – 10kV (screw terminal to suit Saflame HT lead)
Duty – 100%

SA8 Ignition unit 110V

Functionally the same as the 230V version but runs on 110V.

Input – 110V (moulded in flex)
Output – 10kV (screw terminal to suit Saflame HT lead)
Duty – 100%

SA8 Control Card

Part 52-01-07.

New Version

This is the control card for an SA8 box. It has the flame detection, sequencing and valve control circuitry on board. Voltage selection is via a solder link (default 230V) and detection method, probe or UV (using the optional cell) is selected by a jumper. The card itself plugs directly into the SA8 box mother board, no wired connections are required.

SA8 UV detector cell

Part 52-01-08.

A UV detector mounted in a robust anodised aluminium housing. The electrical connection is via a robust, environmentally sealed plug (similar to DIN 43650 ). A matching lead is available. The cell is mounted to the burner via a 3/8” BSP nipple, the cell having a female thread.

Part 52-01-09.


A 2 meter long PVC insulated cable with a moulded on 4 pole line socket. It is secured to the cell with a single screw. The connector is miniature version of those found on most solenoid valves (similar to DIN 43650 ).

SA8 ASI Control Card

A plug in card that provides remote status monitoring via the industry standard ASi bus. Utilising an approved chipset, compliance to the ASi standard is ensured. 2 uncommitted inputs (110/230V) and outputs (volt free) are provided. CGE use these with their Touch Screen system to control a motorised temperature control valve.

Silicon insulated high voltage cable suitable for use with our ignition transformers. We also use it for flame probe connections as its extra thick insulation provides better mechanical protection.
